How much will it cost?

Not as much as you may expect. South East Asia can be backpacked on a shoestring budget. As for a travel destination, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam are some of the cheapest countries ive ever visited. Getting there maybe expensive but once your there you wont be worried to much. Guest houses can be as little as $4 per night, a meal is under a dollar and a bus across the country is $15 dollars. Travel Routes

Theres so much to do and see in Southeast Asia. Im pretty sure 99% of people start their trip in Thailand. Flights to Bangkok are normally much cheaper than flights to any surronding countries. So which direction do you head after Bangkok? I think its good to keep your plans open. Dont try and plan your trip day by day, place by place. Its a good idea to have a general idea of which direction you are heading.
